How would you like to see Second Avenue rebuilt? What are your dos and don'ts for what you would like to see?
The fact that so much of Second Avenue has stayed basically intact for over 150 years is remarkable. We would want to first see as much as possible salvaged, re-used and improved. New construction should accommodate a mix of uses, and enhanve the pedestrian scale and activity along the full length of the street (particularly south of Commerce to Public Square), but also explore opportunities to better connect that block - and all of downtown - to 1st Avenue and the Cumberland River.
