New Mid-rise Pitches Skyline Views from a Corner of Downtown

Plans for a five-story building have surfaced in a corner of downtown Nashville.

Muse is the name of the proposed building, which would include more than 60 units and street-level retail space, according to documents filed with the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency. The building would rise on the 0.6-acre property at 4 Berrien St., which hugs the downtown interstate loop.

It appears the building's units would be apartments, but some or all of them could function as short-term rentals — as indicated by a check-in desk labeled on plans filed with MDHA. A number of hotel-like concepts have planted their flags downtown in the last couple of years, riding the city's record-setting surge of tourist visits.
